Price Differences for Bifocal Lenses

Prices for bifocal lenses vary considerably.

Bifocal lenses have a very large price difference.
In our store, it ranges from 15,000 yen to 100,000 yen,

There is a reason why we are able to offer lenses at a discount, and the reason is 、、、、

The cheap lenses are actually lenses that were sold at top-notch prices 5 or 10 years ago.
(Don't get me wrong, just because the "design" is 5 or 10 years old, the product is brand new.)

This is a lens for which a large amount of R&D expenses and capital investment have been amortized, so we can offer it at a discount.
In that sense, they are similar to "medicine.
(After a certain period of time, you get generic drugs.)

Therefore, new lenses based on the most recent research are necessarily a little more expensive. The cost of the newer lenses is, of course, a little higher, but the visual quality is much better than the older ones.

On the other hand, lenses that have fully absorbed the costs of R&D can be sold at a lower price.

So, how should we choose the right lens?

This is not to say that cheap is bad, but it is easier to understand if we replace it with a cell phone (smartphone), for example.

Example:
Some people are only satisfied with the newest iPhone, while others are satisfied with the iPhone 7 or so. But, as expected, the iPhone 5 is not enough.

It is a sensation, but it is a sensation that the eyeglass industry still sells all successive models from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 11 together.
(Just an example.)

Some stores only sell from iPhone 5 to 8 or so,
Some stores only offer iPhoneX and above.

This is one of the reasons for the large price differences in bifocal lenses.

And it's easy to tell which is the cheapest store and which is the one that sells the latest technology.

So, is it enough just to be cheap?

Just as there are price-related performance differences between cell phones, there are definitely price-related differences in the price of lenses and the quality of vision.

We often have customers who say that their first bifocal lenses they used at a discount retailer were difficult to use and difficult to see, and they just wanted us to take a good look at them because they were inconvenient.

We have just used moderately priced bifocal lenses made with the "current" technology we offer,
They told me that if it looked this good, I should have done it right sooner.

Such stories are not particularly uncommon.

On the contrary, there are many customers who are using the old design without any problems at all.

What I am trying to say is that there will always be those who find it easy or difficult to get used to lenses depending on the power of the customer and the progress of their presbyopia, and there will be those who are very satisfied and those who are dissatisfied even with reasonable lenses.

Since everything can be said about a cell phone by its specifications, even a layman can figure it out with a little research, but this is not so easy to do in the case of eyeglasses, is it?

Because we are professional opticians for such situations,
We would like you to consult with us.

We will suggest you the best lenses that fit your budget.
