MIDO Exhibition Vol. 4
This is Vol. 4 of our report on the MIDO exhibition.
If you always read our blog or Facebook, you have seen the frames delivered after the exhibition, but in fact, when we go to an exhibition, it is not only our job to see only the brands we do business with.
Even for brands that we do not do business with, we are willing to show them to our clients, and use them as a reference for selecting products in the future. However, since they are not busy, some of them are willing to show us their products, while others do not allow us to see their products unless we make an appointment with them.
So, I ask them to show me their frames on the side where other opticians are looking at them, or I ask them to show me their frames by breaking through the front door. Exhibitors from all over the world come to the exhibition held in Italy, so the official language is English. I think there are not many people who use English as their mother tongue. So everyone listens to me rather kindly (laughs).
I am good at English, so I feel that the art helped me in these situations. (laugh) It was hard when I was learning it, but I am glad that I did it well when there are more situations where I can use it.
In addition, an exhibition where many people in the eyeglass industry gather is, after all, a treasure trove of information. Opticians and designers who actively exchange information with us are very much appreciated.
Many opticians, sales reps, and designers introduced me to people, taught me how to get around, gave me good advice, and reported on each other's recent activities.
The booth photos are of brands that we do not carry, but these brands are rather well-known and well-known in the industry.
That is why the booth is also quite large.
Although not so many in number, Japanese brands are also doing their best. I had a chance to take a good look at MASUNAGA's glasses at the last IOFT, and they were very good glasses with both good Japanese manufacturing and sophisticated design.
Today you have seen some well-known presentations, but next time we will take a different approach.
