HOYA's new coating Venus Guard Meiryo is now on sale.

New lens coatings are now available from HOYA.

Lens coatings are inevitably an afterthought compared to frame and lens selection, or the reaction is that you have to make such a decision, but it is a good idea to know in advance what is available.

Since I have gone to the trouble of explaining the major types of coatings, I will explain what kind of coatings are available. There are many coatings available from various lens manufacturers, and it is difficult to explain them all, so we will only introduce the coatings that we carefully select and introduce.

Standard coat (water repellent function and minimal scratch prevention)

Scratch-resistant coating (water repellent function, scratch-resistant, dust-free)

Blue light cut coat (water repellent function, scratch prevention, dust-proof, blue light function)

Non-dull coat

Standard, scratch and blue light-cut coatings are available with an optional additional antibacterial coating.

The Meiryo coating introduced here adds the function of "low reflection" to the second function of anti-scratch coating.

So what is low reflection?

The surface of ordinary eyeglass lenses is made to reflect green light. Many of you may have experienced this when taking pictures with a cell phone camera or talking through a computer or smartphone at a Zoom conference, etc. The surface of the lens reflects the light and glows.

In addition to the existing anti-scratch coating, Meiryo is a coating designed to minimize reflections even when light strikes the lens.

This coating, first of all, can be equipped from Indivisual Lenses.
