The spring exhibition season is finally here!
The calendar has turned to April, although the weather is still cold.
Today, a new name for the new year was announced. It is "Heiseiwa," which has a very deep meaning and makes us feel that the new name has been thought through. I will not get used to using it for a while and will probably say "Heisei" even after May has passed (laugh).
Well, April is the season for eyeglass frame exhibitions. Every year, opticians like myself gather in Tokyo from all over the country for the exhibitions held in spring and fall.
I wish all the venues could be held together in one place, but I have taken the liberty of color-coding them as follows: famous overseas brands, house brands from overseas, cool domestic brands, quality and solid Sabae brands, and small designer brands. The manufacturers are largely organized around Shibuya and Aoyama due to their various agendas, but the event is still held at various locations in Tokyo.
This is a shot of last year's COME exhibition. We look at the new products of each brand at these venues, and with the faces of our customers in mind, we make our purchases with the right amount of care, such as "this color for this frame".
Overseas brands will introduce their new products presented at the MIDO exhibition in Italy, which I recently visited, to Japanese buyers, while domestic brands are preparing their new spring models for this exhibition.
In the evening, there is a party, which is a very good opportunity for opticians from all over the country to experience the passionate commitment and different ways of thinking of other opticians over drinks, so I actively participate in the party.
It will literally be a day of moving all day long, from morning to night, but it will also be a day full of stimulation, so I am looking forward to it. I will share more on this blog.
Unfortunately, these exhibitions are only open to industry professionals.
