HOYA Optina bifocal lenses are now on sale.

HOYA has created a new bifocal (intermediate-distance) lens after a long absence.

The name.

When you say that bifocal lenses (including intermediate bifocal lenses) are new, you don't know what the difference is.

Since we are here, let me explain a little.

Three main factors determine the difference in the price of bifocal lenses.

The first is the "difference in lens thickness" called the "refractive index" as well as the single focal length lens.

Secondly, in lens design, how much correction should be applied with precision to "improve vision to what extent?

The third is whether or not the lenses are fully custom-made, indivisual lenses.

While the difference in thickness of the first lens is easy to understand because it is directly visual, the second lens design is difficult to understand because it is not actually a single lens, although it can be tried. The third, individual lens, is a lens that is created after measuring all the angles of the frame used by the customer and the distance between the eyes and the lens, so it is the highest peak among the so-called premium lenses.

Due to differences in lens design, the HOYA lenses we handle range in price from the mid 10,000 yen to over 100,000 yen, with a maximum price difference of less than 10 times.

The lens we recommend will depend on the degree of distance, the progress of presbyopia, and the degree of astigmatism of each individual customer. Basically, the higher the price, the more correction is applied and the easier it is to see.

I have to preface this by saying that the HOYA LUX Optina, which I will introduce here, is the pinnacle among lenses that omit the indivisual function.

The lens design incorporates the technology of the recently released HOYA LUX Polar, the pinnacle of independent lenses, so the lens is characterized by a wide range of intermediate and near vision.

We recommend this lens to the following people

  • Those who drive but also have some computer work.
  • Those with some degree of presbyopia (age 55 and older)
  • Current bifocal lens users
  • Strong astigmatism
  • Those who have a large difference in power between left and right

The new lens design has improved on the good points of the previous lenses and improved on the unpopular points, so there is no doubt that the field of view will be wider and easier to see.

Please give it a try.
