HOYA's new dimming lens is now on sale.

HOYA has announced the release of two new light-dimming lenses, which are now available for sale.

What is a dimming lens?

A light-dimming lens is a lens that automatically darkens or lightens in color depending on the amount of ultraviolet rays or light.

These glasses have two functions in one, becoming sunglasses when outside or in strong sunlight, and becoming regular transparent lenses at night or indoors.

A wide range of lenses are available, including bifocal lenses as well as prescription lenses.

This year, two types of light control lenses were presented: a light control lens that changes with ultraviolet rays and a light control lens that changes only with brightness, known as visible light.

What makes the difference is mainly whether the color changes or not in the car. Most cars have UV-cut glass, and no matter how much glaring light comes in, the color will not change for lenses that only change color with UV light.

What has been developed is a light-tinting lens that changes color in response to visible light, the so-called dazzling light that humans can normally perceive.

There are two types of this product, which you can choose from.

A weakness of the previous dimming lenses was the slow fading speed when entering a dark room from a bright location.

The speed of fading is dramatically faster with this new lens.

As we enter the season of strong sunlight, we hope that you will pay attention to the lenses that protect your eyes.
